The Isle of Wight County Fair is happening next week. In light of this annual tradition, our discussion today highlights stamps issued by the United States Postal Service which feature fairs. 

While fairs themselves date to the days of the Roman Empire, they are still gathering occasions for people to enjoy markets, games, competitions, information, feasts and more. The spectacle and themes of local fairs, state fairs and world fairs have been featured artwork on USPS stamps. Today, philatelist and retired U.S. Navy lithographer Mark Campbell will guide us through some of that fair history with less deep-fried butter.
