Description

Curious about what archaeologists do beyond digging? Join us to clean and process artifacts from our ongoing excavations! The Fairfield Foundation, founded in 2000, is a non-profit committed to community outreach and fostering appreciation for archaeology and historic preservation. Through partnerships and educational programs, it manages sites like the Fairfield Archaeology Park, Rosewell Ruin and Visitor Center, Timberneck at Machicomoco State Park, Walter Reed Birthplace, and the Center for Archaeology, Preservation, and Education at the restored Edgehill Service Station, now called the CAPE. These sites provide immersive, hands-on historical experiences throughout the year for students, professionals, volunteers, and the community.
