Join Colonial Williamsburg and the Bill of Rights Institute to explore these questions with your students in mind—just in time for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! In this program, Colonial Williamsburg historian Dr. Jordan Taylor will discuss how the push for American independence was part of a broader moment shaped by popular will and competing visions of freedom. Through compelling case studies, you will examine how different groups defined and pursued their own paths to independence. After this discussion, you’ll dive into classroom-ready resources and primary source activities from Colonial Williamsburg and the Bill of Rights Institute.
