To Heed Washington’s Call: Virginians Prepare to March North October 3-4, 2026 To Heed Washington's Call, will highlight the the Virginia Line in Willliamsburg as they prepare to join Washington's army during the crisis of 1776. After spending the summer of driving Lord Dunmore from Virginia, the 7th remained in the Commonwealth longer than other forces, as they re-equipped for the hardships yet to come. Guests will be immersed in a multifaceted Williamsburg at war, not only highlighting the soldiers, but also the substantial civilian contribution to outfit and equip the army. The event will highlight the unique importance of the Williamsburg Public Store, the people who interacted with it, and the men who marched from it in service of a common cause. Included with CW Admission. Volunteer contributions are a vital tradition at Colonial Williamsburg. Reenactors and living history volunteers are greatly encouraged to join us for our Reenactor Weekends.
